ARDA collaborate with the Department of Livestock Development and Chulalongkorn University and organized a seminar on “Destroying African Cholera Virus Used in Swine Farms”

On August 15, 2022, Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization) or ARDA collaborated with the Department of Livestock Development and Chulalongkorn University and organized a seminar on “Destroying African Cholera Virus Used in Swine Farms” at Phra Phirun Meeting Room Department of Livestock Development and via Zoom Cloud Meetings. To transfer knowledge to the Officers of the Department of Livestock Development to apply the principle of calculating the safe period for the destruction of the African swine fever virus by various methods to be used as a guideline for effective prevention and management at the farm level of pig farmers in Thailand.

This seminar was honored by Dr. Noppawan Buameetoo, a specialist in animal health development and veterinary therapy, the Department of Livestock Development in the welcome speech and opening the discussion by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suphachai Nuanualsuwan, Chulalongkorn University lecture on “Guidelines for assessing the safe time for ASFV destruction in pig farms” and “Sampling in the swine production chain determine the current contamination status in the field of ASFV. As a reference for calculating the safe time to destroy the ASFV by the current contamination level with an emphasis on small and medium-sized farms”, along with a program to calculate the mean time to kill African swine fever (ASFV) that is easy to use, convenient and fast. This seminar has 126 officials from the Department of Livestock Development across the country who were able to apply ASFV management principles and recommend them to pig farmers will benefit the pig farming industry in Thailand in the future.
