ARDA collaborate with Maejo University and Chiang Mai University to enhance crops with “Smart NPK and UNT Agromet

            On April 26, 2022, the Office of Research Utilization, Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization) or ARDA organized to transfer knowledge on soil, water, and fertilizer management applications for planting and adaptation agriculture. Through electronic media (Zoom) and live broadcast via the Facebook live page of the ARDA. Ms. Ciriklon Viwallvong, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Research Development Agency, said the opening training provides guidelines for the participants to apply the knowledge gained in the cultivation of various plants and continue to expand their careers.

                Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supatida Aumtong  from  Maejo University and Asst. Prof. Dr.Chakrit Chotamonsak from Chiang Mai University as a speaker to convey knowledge of how to use the Smart NPK application, which is use for fertilizer application according to the soil analysis results of various areas able to calculate the amount of fertilizer to suit the soil nutrient level of each field and link to the soil analysis values ​​obtained by a portable test kit and the UNT Agromet application as a database of weather conditions such as temperature, rainfall, and soil moisture of different areas at that time, which can forecast hourly for five days and daily for ten days, severe weather warning systems such as thunderstorms and summer thunderstorms, and also provide agricultural meteorological information on moisture such as soil water capacity, and permanent wilting points to monitor water shortages with those interested in attending the training total of more than 345 people, consisting farmers, officials of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Land Development Department,  Department of Agriculture, Cooperative Promotion Department, lecturers, students, and interested persons who attended the training who were interested in applying their knowledge to other crops such as oil palm, rubber, tobacco, vegetables, and various fruit trees as well as jointly developing research to cover types of economic crops and can be used in all areas of Thailand.
