ARDA and Yunnan Agricultural University (YAU) strengthen cooperation in Coffee and Herb research.

From January 5 to 9, 2024, the Agricultural Research and Development Agency (Public Organization), or ARDA went to Pu’re City, the People's Republic of China to sign a Letter of agreement with Yunnan Agricultural University, or YAU, on Coffee and herb research. This aims to enhance collaboration in research and development, as well as research personnel development, in the fields of coffee and herbs, which are crucial agricultural products in high demand. The primary focus of this cooperation is to engage in the study and exchange of research on the cultivation process, identifying suitable varieties for the region to enhance production in both quantity and quality, disease and insect management, and product development. Both sides aim to develop coffee and herbs throughout the production chain, creating income for farmers in highland areas and fostering innovation to drive the economy within both networks. This collaboration is considered a significant advancement in the development of coffee and herbs in Thailand, with ARDA being the main Thai agency supporting government agencies, educational institutions, and the private sector.

On this occasion, ARDA also visited the China (Pu’er) International Coffee Expo, this expo aims to showcase a coffee product from China, including Coffee machines, AI for producing coffee, etc.

Nevertheless, ARDA has planned to sign 2 more Letters of agreement with YAU in an issue of tropical fruit and research personal capability development during March–April 2024 in Thailand.
